It’s tempting to just “try” the quick fix. The 30 day plan, the cleanse, the shakes, etc. I get it, These companies spend $$$$ marketing to women who are desperate for a solution (to a problem they created…)
But if that stuff worked, you wouldn’t be here…wanting to lose weight… again.
The truth is, restriction (which is the key to lose weight fast* products) actually only works for so long. You eventually get HUNGRY, say F this, and then get fed up, restrict, and repeat (and these companies/ the weight loss industry want you to do repeat this cycle FOREVER because they are making bank.)
They stop making money when people actually lose weight for good.
Also- quick weight loss is inferior to slow and steady weight loss because when you lose weight quickly you are losing water weight, muscle mass, and SOME fat… when you lose weight slow and steady in a healthy way, you can focus on FAT loss.
So what’s the key to actual long lasting change.
Habits you can stick with. (womp womp). I know. It’s not sexy, but science has shown time and time again, that the same basic principles actually make a difference.
[ side note: This is the reason I expect my clients to be DONE with me/ my coaching services after 3-6 months. If you need me to hold your hand forever, I’m not doing my job!! ]
The five habits that actually make a difference are:
eat protein at every meal + high fiber diet (aka fruits/veg/whole grains) + healthy fats (I call this the PFF method in my ebook) some people prefer higher carb, some people prefer higher fat.. neither is superior.
Get enough rest (no, not a joke. Lack of sleep = high cortisol = your body wants to hold onto fat)
Strength training. More muscle mass = higher metabolism
Stop stress eating/ picking at your kids food/ eating when you are bored, etc.
Drink more water!
